Tore-Hol lake is situated 10 km far from Erzin village. It is located on the territory of a big basin high in the mountains. The length of the lake is 10 kilometers. Its waters are rich in ide and pike. The water seems to be green because of the seaweed. The river Saldam flows out of the north-western part of the lake. A spring Bayat flows into the river from its left side. There are many hydrosulfide springs situated near the left bank of Saldam river. They can be found by a strong unpleasant smell. Local people use the water from the springs for drinking and washing.
There is a legend about the name of the lake. It comes from Mongolian words "ter" (this) and "nuur" (a lake) which than changed to "hol".
The legend says that once upon a time there lived a khan. Once a servant told him that there was fish in a well. The khan refused to drink the water from the well. The water got angry and began to flow out of the well. So the khan had to run away. He looked back and cried: "Ter nuur!" (This is a lake!). The water flooded the field and formed the lake Tere-Hol.
