Circum-Baikal Railway (KBZD) is the unique historical and cultural complex which includes historical, technical, and engineering art set against nature’s monuments and absolutely amazing landscapes. Works of man and civilian objects left by previous cultural era have the most direct contact with geocomplexes.
Taking into consideration the various kinds of work done on every single kilometer of the rail line as well as the difficulty of their performance, the Circum-Baikal railway surpasses all the track lines in the world and is by right considered the most beautiful among the world’s railways. The railway route comprises about 39 tunnels, 500 shoots, pipes, bridges and viaducts, including 6 shoots, 15 stone pipes, 411 small metal bridges measured 2,23 to 19,17 m in aperture, 6 viaducts, 29 medium metal bridges 21,3 to 64,2 m in aperture and a row of large bridges.
