The Khakasian museum and archeological reserve "Kazanovka" is situated 3 km far from Kazanovka village, close to the village Askiz (national capital city of Khakassia Republic, where most Khakassian people live), 140 km to the east from Abakan city. The reserve "Kazanovka" was created in February 1996 thanks to the initiative of the historian, archaeologist and simply an indifferent, genuinely loving Khakassia person Leonid Eremin. Since that time the reserve become the pride of Askizsky region and Khakassia. "Kazanovka" is an example of how to value the historical and cultural heritage of every country, it's a brand, demanded by scientists and tourists from all over the world. This museum is situated under the open sky. There are more than 2000 archaeological monuments on the territory of the nature reserve. Every year archaeologists open 30-40 new monuments. Now there are only 3 people working in the reserve. The main purpose of this museum is to preserve natural and historical landscapes, reconstruction and development of local people's life, gathering, searching, forming and protection of the funds. The area of "Kazanovka" is 18433 hectares. Khakassisn speech sounds here, Khakassian food is not exotic, all rituals are natural without striving for theatricality. If you visit "Kazanovka" museum you will have a chance to go on an interesting and exciting excursion and to visit a unique yurt camp "Kyug" where everybody can stay to have rest after a long day.
