The town Turukhansk is located at the confluence of the Lower Tunguska River and the Yenisei. Tunguska - because on its banks Tungus people (modern Evenki) lived, and the definition of lower sets it apart from the other two Tunguska. The population is 4.8 thousand people. Sights of the town is the Trinity Church (end 18th - beginning 19th century). In Turukhansk there are fishery, oil and gas expeditions, river station, airport, museum of revolutionists Yakov Sverdlov and Suren Spandarian.
