Barnaul - Mining Industrial City

Barnaul lies along the Ob River in the West Siberian Plain. It is the closest major city to the Altai Mountains to the south. Barnaul is also situated relatively close to the border with the countries of Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and China. 

The concept of a tourism cluster "Barnaul - mining industrial city” was developed in the Altai Territory. The total area of the future complex will make up 169.845 hectares. As the website of the city administration reports, the object of the project "Barnaul - mining industrial city” development was the historical part of the city. 

According to the developed concept, the territory will be divided into nine subclusters: an innovative multi-functional tourist complex "Barnaul Silver Factory", a recreational complex "Central Rayon Park with Aptekarsky Garden ", a historical and educational complex "Demidov Square and Polzunova Street", an urban development and cultural and historical complex "Cathedral Square", a historical and educational complex "Moskovsky Prospect", a historical and educational complex "Old Market with the Pedestrian Street", a museum and a tourist complex "Lva Tolstogo Street", a tourist and recreational complex "Nagorny Park", and a congress and an exhibition and tourist complex "Altai".
