The new configuration of Flightstrip 2 providing for expansion and improvement of infrastructure will be able to ensure 45 takeoff and landing operations per hour. The works are to be completed in 2016, according to the urban news agency “Moskva”. The reconstruction project of the Flightstrip 2 includes carrying out of works without reducing the throughput functionality.
Thus, a new flighstrip and necessary taxiways are to be built first at a distance of 287 meters from the existing Flightstrip-2. Only after the commissioning of the new flightstrip and the beginning of its operation the existing Flightstrip-2 will be closed for renovation and further conversion of the facility into a rapid taxiway.
