Russia has some news for transit passengers coming to Russia by Aeroflot airlines via Sheremetyevo airport.
1) Aeroflot has allowed passengers to use all gadgets (incl. mobile phones) in flight mode during the flights.
In normal mode (calling, SMS etc) phones and other devices can be used before take-off and after landing.
There are still restrictions to use laptops. Such devices should be put in your hand luggage or in the seat pocket during takeoff and landing, but approved for use in the main part of the flight.
The carrier also confirmed the permission to use cameras on board.
2) In the airport Sheremetyevo (SVO, Moscow), the main hub of Aeroflot airlines, WiFi is again available!
Free, no time limits, but complicated log-in.
They say, sometimes the presence of free WiFi is able to influence the decision of a passenger to choose a transit airport. Ok, welcome to SVO!
