In Altai region of Khakassia Republic a safari-park to appear soon.

The centre for animals is planned to be opened in Smirnovskiy bor. It is planned to locate here hoof animals from Abakan zoo – reindeer, marals, elks, roes and others.

For the animals there will be built spacious open-air cages so that the animals live in half-forced conditions and cannot leave the park at the same time.

Already 20 ha of territory are given to safari-park. According to preliminary calculations, about 17 mln roubles will be spent for the project.

Previously the authorities of Khakassia planned to build different holiday and sport areas, facilities for tourists and a small botanical garden.

Smirnovskiy bor is 90% articficial, created by forest rangers of the republic. In 1999 it received a status of ‘Nature sanctuary of Republic significance’. Nowadays the territory of the bor is about 1.1 thousand ha.
