15 February an ensemble from Tuva will act with Khoomei (throat singing) in Philharmonic Concert Hall in Irkutsk Region with program “Nomad’s way”
Ensemble was created in 1988 by Zoya Kirgis, scientist and by Genady Tumatom, the national singer of Tyva Republic for the purpose of performance traditions of Tuvan throat singing.
Tuvan inhabitants saved the art of throat singing and all types of instrumental tools of nomads. Guns, Skyphs, Samartis, Kirgyzi, Yiguri and Turks lived in Tuva, and all these cultures are reflected in ensemble`s songs.
In 2002 the ensemble won a Gran Pri in International festival of live music “Ustuu-Khuree” (Tuva Republic).
In 2003 the “Tuva” ensemble won a Gran Pri in 4th International Music Festival “Melodies of East” (Samarkand City) – it was the first Russian victory on so prestigious competition. The “Tuva” ensemble with a big success acted in Mongolia, Taiwan, Holland, Belgium, Swiss, German, Norway, USA, Japan and other countries.
The repertoire of ensemble is very various, included solo and ensemble throat singing in 5 different styles, epic poetry, playing on national instruments and ethnic Tuvan songs.
Throat singing has a very powerful energetic, has curative and preventive actions, helps to relax and find harmony between soul and body
