Since January 1, 2017, the highway M-54 Yenisei officially changed its direction at the 804 km "Kyzyl – Chadan – Khandagayty – state border with Mongolia". The road passed from the Republican into the Federal ownership. In turn, Federal road "Kyzyl – Erzyn – border with Mongolia" transferred to the Republican property.
Note that on 9 November 2016, at the initiative of the Head of the Republic of Tuva Sholban Kara-ool held a working meeting with the Minister of transport of the Russian Federation Maxim Sokolov, the results of which was the decision on implementing of the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation from September 14, 2015 No. 975 to change the direction of the Federal highway M-54 Yenisei on the territory of the Republic on the route Kyzyl – Chadan –Khandagayty – state border with Mongolia.
