Have you heard about Russian famous leader Vladimir Lenin?
Everyone who is interested in our history knows the place of his exile. It's the village Shushenskoe.
For a long Soviet time the village was famous thanks to its museum devoted to Lenin.
Times change and today we know this historical museum as an outstanding ethnographical one offering its guests to see how an old Siberian village may look like, what people may do, etc. The museum helps you to feel the atmosphere of real country life. There are numerous monuments of architecture on the 7 hectares: farmhouses, commercial shop, jail, tavern, about 200 wooden buildings. A visit to a real tavern will bring everybody another surprise, you can see handicrafts and go to the shop of a merchant. Here you can be served a cup of tea in a real Siberian izba.
Since summer 2013 the ethnographical museum "Shushenskoe" offers you also to stay for a night or even more in their wooden guesthouses built specially for foreign tourists. Guesthouses were reconstituted with preservation of cultural styles of Angara river area and south of Krasnoyarsk Territory. The realities of peasant life are combined with modern comfort living (full board with Siberian dishes may be served, in every room shower, toilet, toilet cosmetics, air conditioning, Internet etc.).
Becoming masters of estates, enjoying traditional peasant cuisine, learning the basics of craft, taking part in the games and entertainments, ceremonies and celebrations, guests can feel the real Siberian farmers.
The price starts from 30 euro for a person for a night in a twin room. You can pay extra 21 euro for a full board or separately for some meals. Breakfast is served for 4 euro.
