An open photo expedition to Shavlinskie lakes (Altai republic) started its way from Barnaul on July 8. The expedition "West-East" is organized by the traveling club "Russian expeditions". Its participants will take photos and make videos for exhibitions, magazines National Geographic, Phototravel and a satellite channel "Tele traveling".

The travelers of "West-East" will continue the same route in 2009. This year the expedition was joined by the travelers from Kaluga, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Barnaul and Tallin. The team of people changes on every part of the route. All in all there are 11 people.

The team of the expedition will visit Goby desert and Tibet after Mountain Altai.
