Authorities hope that visitors from Europe and Asia will also be interested in getting acquainted with Yeniseysk. Region’s historical capital – the city of Eniseisk, built by gold miners, will celebrate its 400th anniversary in 2019. Now in Eniseysk, works on recreating the original appearance of architectural monuments are being carried out. 22 items of cultural heritage will be restored; utilities and transport infrastructure will be modernized as well. Archaeological excavations are also carried out in the city. 

For example, a few months ago, scientists discovered a gaol wall dated to 17th century and some items of those times: hair clips, leather, knives and many other things. In 20 km from Eniseysk is located Monastyrskoye Lake. Its history is cloaked in various mysteries and legends. Every summer crowds of people come here to remedy different sorts of skin diseases. Swimmers believe that lake water heals wounds and ulcers.
