The spring came! Astronomical spring came only on 20 March (vernal equinox). Historically, these days, many people of the world celebrate in a special way.

Republic of Khakassia celebrates the New Year! 26 March 2016, Saturday. The event is called Chyl Pazy (in Khakassian "head of the year").

The tradition associated with the ancient concepts of cyclic time, according to which the year is "born", "lives" and "dies" with the change of seasons. The holiday scenario includes performances of characters of Khakasssian 12-year cycle calendar, their interaction with the character of the coming year, traditional rites: rites of purification of the soul and house, worship of the Mother of Fire, Honoring the Sacred Birch, the sun greeting, the armistice and forgiveness, hospitality ritual.

In 2016, for the residents and guests of the Republic an interesting program is prepared, dedicated to the "Year of the Man" in ancient Khakassian calendar. The colorful theatrical prologue "Khan pigler" ( "Knights of the Khakassian people"), the central site of the holiday, will include representatives of 13 municipalities of the republic, who will present the image of one of the great representatives of the ancient Khakassian state of the Middle Ages - military leaders, cultural figures.

27 March, Sunday, in the Altai Republic (Gorno-Altaysk) the festival Nauryz takes place - holiday of spring and the nature's renewal among the people of the Near East and Central Asia.

Nauryz Holiday symbolizes not only the renewal of spring, but also friendship, love and fertility. According to legends, on this day the people got rid of the winter hardships, become happy for the welfare and safety of livestock. To the holiday houses get cleaned, people make peace with each other, stop all quarrels.

The celebration program includes: concerts, games, sports competitions.
