22 December in the evening on ice of Neva River the Father Frost will arrive to the Senate Square on an aero sledge. A crowd of young men dressed like Father Frost will be waiting for him.

After that Father Frost and his “Suite” will go a parade column to the Palace Square, where grandfather with citizen together will light the main Christmas tree of the city.

In a New Year`s Eve all platforms of the city will be united by the theme “Night of New Year`s Bridges”. It will be expressed first of all in design houses and streets.

From 09:00 pm the part of Nevsky Prospect, from the Fontanka embankment to the Palace Square, will become pedestrian. Since midnight interactive scenes will work on the Main Square. Hot pies and drinks will warm the St.Petersburg citizen all night long.

From 11:00 pm to 04:00 am the main program of holiday will take place on the Palace Square. Visitors will take pleasure in fireworks and laser show. 15-minute laser show on facade of the Exchange building on the Vasilyevsky Island will go all night long – each hour from midnight to 05:00 am. And firework show will start at 02:00 am at water area of Neva River. The subway will be closed just for two hours from 02:00 am to 04:00 am.

The train of winter holidays will be continued by Christmas. 7 January near Kazan Cathedral actors and members of the clergy will present a Christmas program.
