The Yeniseysk regional museum

The Yeniseisk regional museum is one of the oldest museums of Siberia. It was founded in 1883 by Alexander Kytmanov. The building of the museum is an architectural monument.

126 years ago there was the only one worker in the Yeniseysk museum - its founder merchant Kytmanov, the heir of the Yeniseysk steamship line, the researcher of his native region who left precious works and discoveries.

The unique collection of the museum includes pipes made of mammoth's bone, tungus tribes' clothes, collections of seeds, Stone age instruments, tungus boxes decorated by beads, squirrels' tails boa and ancient fishing tools.

The exhibition fund of the Yeniseysk regional museum consists of 45 000 objects including hand written stories of famous Yeniseysk people.
