The first part of museum-tourist complex ‘Suzun-Plant. Mint’ is to be opened in 2014, as stated by press-service of the region government. The event is connected with the 250th anniversary of Suzun village.
The total cost of the project is about 1 billion roubles. By the end of 2014 it is planned to build a centre of historic information in Suzun which will include museum exhibits and records. It is planned to develop an archeological park and mint in 2015-2016. In 2016 it is also planned to restore a historic building of a copper plant. In the renovated Mint visitors will see seven technological stages of coin making, and at the same time it is planned to arrange a ‘coin amusement’ which will demonstrate the process of copper coins pressing. Suzun copper plant and mint were built as a part of Kolyvano-Voskresenskiy plants in 1764. Starting from 1766 and up to 1847 there were minted the so-called ‘Siberian coins’, which were used in Siberia Governorate.
