Additional flight connection with Beijing, Seoul and Tokyo is to be opened in Irkutsk.

New routes to the east are to be opened because of the acquisition of new airplanes and the modernization of the Irkutsk airport. It was announced by the governor of the Irkutsk region Sergey Eroschenko at the meeting with the General Counsel of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in Nakhodka  Mr. Sim Guk Rehn. As Mr. Sim Guk Rehn reported, North Korea plans to offer its own development in such spheres as mechanical engineering, metallurgy, construction, light industry, science and health. The General Counsel also noticed that Consulate-General of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in Nakhodka is interested in cooperation on two-way exchange of experts in these spheres.
