Must-see in Tyumen Region?

03.09.2015

Tyumen region, stretching from the Arctic Ocean to the south of the state border of Russia, takes almost 1.5 million km2. It is the third largest region of the Russian Federation (after the Sakha Republic and Krasnoyarsk Territory).

The rich historical heritage, natural diversity and development of tourist infrastructure allows to promote Tyumen region differently. "The specifics of tourism in our region is that it is multi-faceted, - says Irina Gryaznova, head of the regional department of tourism development. - You can find a holiday to suit every taste: hunting, fishing, event tourism, medicine, hot springs, weekend tours, educational and historical tourism. So we are waiting for different tourists".

The absolute leader in attracting tourists to the Tyumen Region is Tobolsk city, in the last decade it justifies the status of the "Pearl of Siberia". Tourists from all Russia come here to admire the only Kremlin behind the Urals.

About halfway from Tyumen to Tobolsk there is the village Pokrovskoe, known as the birthplace of Grigory Rasputin, the favourite of the last Russian royal family. The museum of "Saint devil" was opened here in 1991, which became the first private museum in Russia. Its centerpiece is the personal belongings of Rasputin and his family: original photos with inscriptions of the Romanovs, the personal records of Gregory, copies of various documents. The original house is not preserved, but it is a replica. Travelers meet another "copy" - double Rasputin, imitating stereotyped behaviors of elder man. Rasputin is the only native of the region, known far beyond Russia.

Another object associated with Russian history is located in Yalutorovsk, located 75 km to south-east from Tyumen. The first in the Soviet Union Museum of the Decembrists was opened here 1927. Here you can find original houses of Matvey Muraviev-Apostol and Dmitry Yakushkin (totally 9 people ware exiled tp Yalutorovsk). In both objects reproduced the true situation of the first half of the 19 century, showing unique exhibits and documents belonging to the participants of the uprising at Senate Square - photos, manuscripts, letters, household items.

Guests can visit Siberian stockaded town, modeled on the settlements that were built by Cossacks, moving deep into Siberia. The town is built in compliance with the real dimensions of these facilities at the historic site of the city's founding. Last year, the excursion object was almost completely burned down, but rebuilt.

Cossack theme is also popular in the region, which is not surprising, given the history of the conquest of the region. 22 km north from Tyumen city "Cossack farmstead" is located, it's based by real Siberian Cossacks - Ermak's descendants. Young boys led by Ataman Igor Vyuhov noisy welcome tourists with Cossacks rhymes and songs to the accordion and offer a wide choice of leisure activities: horseback riding, learning the basics of trick riding and running a sword, throwing the combat knife, rent a village house with a Russian stove, pickles. But the main "trick" - a chance to organize traditional Russian dogs hunting, which, according to the Cossacks, has practically disappeared in Russia. For this purposethe courtyard has racy greyhounds, can drive the hare, wolf or fox.

Uvat region has extensive opportunities for the organization of hunting and fishing - it's the northernmost municipality of the Tyumen region. Here, 400 km from Tyumen, on lakes and tributaries of the Irtysh river there is still quite valuable fish - whitefish and starlet. Wild taiga is rich in game animals and wild plants - cranberry, cowberry, blueberry and mushrooms. For hunters and fishermen several huts or the cottages to stay are created, relatively comfortable conditions, you can use the help of rangers and instructors.

In the district center - the village Uvat serious infrastructure for sports tourism is created. Biathlon Center of four-time Olympic champion Alexander Tikhonov is able to receive competitions of national and international level. In addition, in the village the "Grand Hotel Uvat" is open in 2007, it offeres 54 numbers - the hotel has no official certification, but the service level corresponds to the level "three stars".

However, the real business card of Tyumen region are hot springs, ice-free, even in the coldest winter. The ability to swim in the healing mineral water, temperature +35 to 48 degrees,  attracts many visitors from neighboring regions. Only in a radius of 50 km from Tyumen there are several dozen wells with mineral water and hotels and camps of varying comfort degrees.
