About 3 years it took to rewrite the geography of Khakassia. Since 2013, with the support of the Khakassky Reserve, the Russian Geographical Society, the Government of Khakassia and the Council of Elders of the Khakas people, work has been carried out to determine the new highest point of Khakassia, Kyzlasov Mountain, with an absolute height of 2969.4 meters. The new highest point of Khakassia is located in the Preserve Pozarym in the Western Sayan Mountains, on the Saljur Ridge (Tashtypsky District of the Republic of Khakassia). The mountain is named in memory of the famous archaeologist Leonid Kyzlasov, who made a significant contribution to the study of Siberia.
