In a bid to protect the population of the Amur tigers, the government of Primorye Region in Russia has opened a special reserve area for two tigeresses. 

The Amur tigers account for the mere 450 species worldwide, and various wildlife organisations globally fight for their preservation.

The reserve area in located near Vladivostok-Nakhodka highway. Currently the visitors can only see the tigeresses through a thick fence, but in the course of 2013 an observation deck will be built along the perimeter of the cage, so people can better watch the life of animals.
